Logan, this is Brad. I just wanted to check in and see how the beginning of your voyage was going and to say good luck! High Sierra has been epic so far, and I know South Africa has some huge beards(1) in store for your as well. I just wanted to let you know that I have not shaved my soul patch for over a month now, and its progress has been halted due to what I call "a lack of extra testosterone due to the excess of male hormone output in everyday activities." Simply put, I believe the reason I can't grow a good beard is because all my testosterone(2) is being used to fuel my other manly activities. Anyway, hope all is well and I hope to hear from you soon! Bye friend! -Brad Zimmer P.S. Tell Mackenzie I say hello, and that I thought of him saying something funny while interacting with a dog a few days ago.
Note: (1) In this case, the word "beards" is interchangeable with the word "things." (2) Testosterone, in this context, is used as a kind of "beard fueling" substance.
Bradley! thanks for your lovely comment! im glad high sierra is going well! we finally got to where we're staying today and its awesome. sorry to hear about your soul patch not wanting to grow, but at least you are getting a desirable tradeoff. it would be worse if you were fat and lazy and still couldnt beard. i love you and miss you. always great to hear from you
Lorjar, I'm glad to hear that you are safely in South Africa. If you see a great white shark, don't tell me..just kidding, tell me, but I'll be scared. I'm kidding again, I won't be scared because I'm not scared of anything....except great white sharks. Anyway, yes, I'm still thankful for the soul patch I've got, however slowly it does grow. I shaved today but decided to keep the soul patch, and I'm getting what is called the "Ben Ritter" haircut tonight, which is really just a regular haircut. Yesterday we went to Yosemite and hiked to the this huge waterfall, something like the fifth largest one in the world. It was beautiful. I hope things are going really well in SA, and I hope to hear from you soon. Let me know when we can skype! -Bradley Zimmer
That sounds awesome! Yosemite is amazing. I'm excited for your haircut; Ben is a good looking man. Yeah skype would be great but its super difficult because of the 10 hour time difference. Tuesday and thursday mornings I'm pretty free so that would be Monday or Wednesday nights for you. Or weekends. No great whites yet. a monkey had to be chased out of the dining hall today though.
Logan, I'm glad we got to skype last week. I hope in the future we are able to skype more; whenever you are free let me know, because I'm almost always awake here and am usually looking for a way to procrastinate. I'm glad to hear that a monkey had to be chased out of the dining hall, and hope that other animals need to be chased out of your dining hall in the future. Trek was awesome. Sure, there were points of time when I both accepted the inevitable severance of my foot from my body because of frostbite, and even death itself, but for the most part everything was awesome. The views I got to witness were amazing, and I feel like God showed me some awesome things up there. In addition, the theme of my team was Lord of the Rings, and we made the entire experience into a live action LOTR expereince. I also made a lot of Heavyweights jokes, and it was great. I'm starting to feel like I may have already told you all of this, but I'm uncertain so I will proceed. I made a makeshift ring out of a belt and carried the burden all the way up to the summit of this mountain, where I casted it into the depths of Mordor. Quick side note: I have officially ordered an Irish tin whistle and intend to learn Concerning Hobbits within a week of receiving it. You better believe I'm going to leave you a video of myself playing it for you, so be ready for that. Also, a great song is Take a Minute by K'naan, you should listen to it if you haven't already done so, you will not regret it. Love, Brad.
P.S. The Demons have made only handful of outbursts in the past month, and I'm beginning to think that they are becoming emaciated due to the theological intensity of this program, but I guess only time will tell.
Hey Bradley! Yesterday on our way to the beach we listened to Michael Buble and it made me miss you! I saw the pictures from Trek and it looked so awesome and I'm jealous. Glad you didn't lose a limb or your life. LOTR is being watched here every night which is so awesome! Im so glad you threw the ring into the fires of Mordor. Hypothetically, that would've really sucked if you hesitated and got your finger bitten off. So way to go! I'm so stoked for your tin whistle! Riley has one so I'll probs have him teach me concerning hobbits. Yay us! Everyone here knows all about my LOTR wedding now. Everyone is very enthusiastic about it. I just listened to take a minute and liked it, very solid lyrics for sure. Songs like that are so much better than songs about weed and boobs. I am so glad to hear about the demons' apparent diminishing attacks.
